Abstract

Royal servant are those people who devote themselves to serving Sultan and his family, actively working inside the palace. Their orientation is blessings instead of the reward or wage of their work. The royal servant who has reached the psychological well being are the servants who are able to accept himself, having positive relations with others, having autonomy of themself, able to master the environment, having purpose in their life, and having personal growth. This study uses qualitative methods with interview approach of the research that involves four late adulthood subjects. Data retrieval starting from the date of 5 September 2011 until 18 September 2011. The results showed that three subjects are able to reach all the criteria dimensions of psychological well being, whereas one subject only has two dimensions that achieved the psychological well-being, namely the dimensions of self-acceptance and purpose in life. The subject did not achieved psychological well being (less good) because he is not able to have a positive relationship with others, have not autonomy, the inability to control their environment, and unable to develop himself.
