Abstract
Teenagers are a hard period, because they need to find their self and the shape of self concept begin in teenagers periode. This research is conducted purposely to know whether there is a distiction of self concept on obesity teenagers who are encountered authoritarian, permissive and authoritative parenting patterns. The understanding of parenting pattern is the parent's treatments in order to fulfill in needs, giving protection, and educating children in everyday life. Self concept in this research refers to the unique composition of perception, judgement, attitude, ways of thinking, dan individuals concience. The number of subjects in this research were 50. All of them study at IPEKA High School Tomang, West Jakarta. They filled the questionnaires which function as the barometer of this research. All the answer for the statement in this questionnaires were in the form of continuum scale. The data processing in this research was using the SPSS computer program for windows release 10.0. The data calculation was done by Post Hoc/Multiple comparisons tes and analysis of variance (F-test). By the analysis of variance (F-Test), show there is a distinction between three authoritarian, permissive and authoritative parenting pattem. Then the researcher expand the counting to compare each two parenting pattem using Post Hoc/Multiple comparison test from the resul of self concept, and the result is obesity teenagers self concept who has authoritative parenting pattem is higher then authoritarian one. Further more, the other result is the obesity teenagers is higher than permissive one. Meanwhile, the last result, there is no distinction between the obesity teenager who has an authoritarian and permissive parenting pattern. The applied parenting pattern will produce attitude, physic and mental that finaly leads to daily habits and manners. From these habits and manners which are conduted in the enviroment of the family will also grow someforms of children's though that influence their lives. Another suggestion is, in another research try to find out about another aspect in obesity teenagers.
