Abstract
Physical abuse is the most painful and terrible experience for children. Physical abuse cause negative effect in developmental aspect such as body image. Developing positive body image in woman who had physical abuse experience in childhood is difficult. The aim of this study is to describe the body image of woman who had physical abuse from parent. The method called in-depth interview was conducted towards three early adulthood woman (aged from 20-25 years old) who had physical abuse in their childhood from their parent and have permanent scar in the part of their body. This study also using the Body Image Questionnaire to support the interview result. This study lasted for six months, started from January 2013 until June 2013. The result shows that three subjects had a physical abuse in their childhood and got a permanent scar that bothering them to develop a positive body image. In general, the three subjects had a negative body image.
