Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the impact of leadership style to adaptive selling of life insurance agent. This study involved 205 agents from 3 life insurance companies using convenience sampling technique. The result of this study shows that both of transformational and transactional leadership style have a significant impact on adaptive selling. Furthermore, transformational leadership style shows more impact on adaptive selling than transactional leadership style. It is assumed that inspirational motivation has more impact on adaptive selling than other dimensions from transformational leadership style. Research hypothesis was proved. Regression analysis from all dimensions of leadership style to adaptive selling shows that inspirational motivation from transformational leadership has the most impact on adaptive selling.
