Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of work stress on organizational commitment. This study included 151 participants who were working as sales in banking with using non-experimental quantitative approach. The results showed the stress of work had an influence on organizational commitment. Participants who have a high work stress indicates lack of commitment to the organization. Meanwhile, participants who had low job stress indicating a higher organizational commitment. Analysis of the data using linear regression with SPSS version 15. The results showed Rsquare = 0.029, t = -2.111, p = 0.036, p < 0,05. So there is a negative and significant effect of work stress on organizational commitment.
