	bibo:abstract "Mahasiswa tingkat akhir sering kali berada dalam posisi yang sangat rentan secara  psikologis sehingga memungkinkan terjadinya depresi dikarenakan tekanan  menyelesaikan skripsi, persiapan masa depan, serta tuntutan akademik dan  sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan dukungan sosial yang  diterima oleh mahasiswa tingkat akhir terhadap kecenderungan mereka  mengalami depresi Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, menggunakan alat ukur Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) untuk mengukur persepsi terhadap dukungan sosial, dan Beck  Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) untuk mengukur kecenderungan depresi. Sampel  berjumlah 100 orang mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Jakarta. Dari hasil uji korelasi diperoleh hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial dan  kecenderungan depresi (r=-0.620; p<0.05), artinya semakin tinggi tingkat  dukungan sosial yang dirasakan mahasiswa, maka semakin rendah  kecenderungan mereka untuk mengalami depresi. Uji analisis data utama, yaitu uji  regresi mengungkap bahwa dukungan sosial memberikan kontribusi sebesar 37%  terhadap variasi tingkat depresi. Artinya, dukungan dari keluarga, teman, dan  orang-orang penting lainnya memiliki peranan nyata dalam menjaga kesehatan  mental mahasiswa."^^xsd:string;
