Abstract

The existence of technology-based entrepreneurship in Indonesia needs to be paid attention to, considering that the percentage of technopreneurial actors remains very low, which is only 0.43% among total entrepreneurs in Indonesia. The increase of
technopreneurial intention among Generation Z needs to be the main focus, considering that this generation has outstanding potencies compared to those of the previous generation, which are high technological capabilities, big hopes to provide novelties to the world, and high entrepreneurial spirit. This research aimed to find out the attitudes of Generation Z in Indonesia toward technopreneurship. Results from the analysis by using Fuzzy C-Means method, show that the majority of Generation Z students remain hesitate to conduct Technopreneurship. Thus, this research further aimed to review the factors that can become the predictor of students’ technopreneurial intention. This research identified the innovative behavior, academic support, learning process, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy as the predictors of technopreneurial intention, with entrepreneurial culture as mediating variable. This research sample involved 440 students from three Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in Jakarta and Bandung. Data was analyzed by using PLS-SEM and it was revealed that innovative behavior does not affect technopreneurial intention directly, but self-efficacy can directly affect technopreneurial intention. This research also proved that entrepreneurial culture can act as a mediating variable between innovative behavior, academic support, learning process, self-efficacy, and technopreneurial intention. The results of this research are expected to provide practical guidance for HEIs and policy makers to create a conducive entrepreneurial culture in order to prepare the students to be technopreneurs in the future
