Abstract

This research aims to study about key determinants affecting electric vehicle adoption in Indonesia, i.e.: subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, attitude, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, price value and purchase intention. Combination theory of TAM and TPB were developed and added with the influence of price value in this study, to learn about the acceptance rate of electric vehicles that can be categorized as new
technologies in Indonesia and to study the psychological factors that can influence the adoption of electric vehicle in Indonesia. This research uses non-probability sampling, in the form of convenience sampling. By collecting data through questionnaires, a valid sample was selected to be used in this study totaling 121 respondents. All respondents were respondents who lived in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi, who used electric
vehicles or wanted to purchase electric vehicles. After collecting the data required in this study, the data was analyzed using the Partial Least Square Method – Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results show that price value, subjective norms, perceived ease of use and attitude can affect purchase intention positively and significantly. In addition, price value, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use can affect attitude positively and significantly. Meanwhile, perceived usefulness and perceived behavioral control did not have significant effect on the purchase intention. With the mediation factor in the form of attitude can fully mediate between perceived usefulness and purchase intention, also partially mediate between the price value and purchase intention, perceived ease of use and purchase intention.
