Abstract

Student engagement in learning is not only seen from attendance, but also active participation in various learning activities, such as discussions, questions and answers, and doing assignments. This study aims to describe student learning engagement in terms of GPA (Grade Point Average). This research uses quantitative research with descriptive statistical methods and the population is students. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling technique with convenience sampling. The participants in this study were 62 respondents. The measuring instrument used is the University Student Engagement Inventory (USEI) consisting of three dimensions, namely behavioural involvement, cognitive involvement, and emotional involvement. The results showed that there were no differences in the T-test of GPA, age, gender, college, faculty, and semester towards learning engagement and its dimensions. However, there is a difference in age based on the dimension of behavioural involvement p < 0.042 (p < 0.05) then in the semester based on total learning engagement there is a difference p < 0.039 (p < 0.05), the dimension of behavioural involvement p < 0.011 (p < 0.05), the dimension of emotional involvement p < 0.017 (p < 0.05).
