Abstract
The design and realization of automation generator set for home and home industry scale can be used to operate the generator set and engine warm-up once every week automatically. This tool uses a microcontroller to control generator set, PLN electricity input and output power of generator set to avoid short circuit between PLN electricity and generator set. This tool can record how long the generator set has been used so oil changes can be scheduled. Battery of generator set can also be monitored easily so it will not cause a damage to the generator set. Sistem was tested by moduls and the system as a whole set. Moduls that were tested were processing modul, HKE relay modul, and RTC modul. The whole sytem testing was done by using five cases simulation. Test results show that the system time required to turn on, turn off, and heating the engine generator set to be shorter. Test result to manually turn on the generator set manually is 3 minutes and 14 seconds, while for the result of testing with the tool designed is 8 seconds. The test to turn on the generator set manually have conditions that the generator set within 20 meters of the user and the generator set is in good condition. Test result to manually turn off the generator set manually is 4 minutes 21 seconds, while the result of testing with the tool designed is 41 seconds
