Abstract
Indonesia has various tourism destinations including museum, but over time, the level of visitors to museums in Indonesia has decreased. This is due to several reasons, such as the entry of Covid-19 in Indonesia which has caused tourism visits to decline, differences in the way the new generation learns and museum managers who are still unable to maintain let alone increase the number of visitors. Currently, cultural heritage museums in Indoensai are still using outdated designs and display systems so that visitors interest decreases. To overcome this problem, one way that can be done is to pay attention to the interior design of the museum. The museum chosen for this final project design is the Geological Museum of Bandung, one of the oldest museums that has become Indonesia’s cultural heritage. This project is focused on the lobby and all areas of the Indonesian history exhibition room. The background behind the design of these rooms is to emphasize the theme of each exhibition and develop an outdated display system with more effective technology. The method used in this project is the 8 stages method proposed by Rosemary Kilmer. Data collection tehcniques consist of physical and non-physical data, data analysis so that it guides the design. This final project report aims to create a national museum interior design guideline at the Geological Museum of Banudng, so that existing problems can be identified and appropriate solutions can be made in the form of interior deisgn.
