Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to obtain empirical evidence on the influence of profitability, leverage, firm size and operating cash flow on financial distress in non-cylical consumer companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2020-2022. The sample used the purposive sampling method and the research data collected was 85 data, using secondary data. The processing technique uses the Eviews 12 Student Version program and Microsoft Excel 2019. The t test results show that profitability has negative and significant effect on financial distress, leverage has a negative and insignificant effect on financial distress, firm size has a negative and significant effect on financial distress, operational cash flow negative and insignificant effect on financial distress. The implication of this research is the need to improve company performance, especially financial performance, to avoid financial distress so that it can provide a positive signal to investors. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh bukti empiris bagaimana pengaruh profitability, leverage, firm size dan operating cash flow terhadap financial distress pada perusahaan consumer non-cyclicals di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2020-2022. Sampel dengan metode purposive sampling dan data penelitian yang terambil sebanyak 85 data, menggunakan data sekunder. Teknik pengolahan menggunakan program Eviews 12 Versi Student dan Microsoft Excel 2019. Hasil uji t menunjukan bahwa profitability berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap financial distress, leverage berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap financial distress, firm size berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap financial distress, operating cash flow berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap financial distress. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya peningkatan kinerja perusahaan khususnya kinerja keuangan untuk menghindari terjadinya financial distress sehingga dapat memberikan sinyal yang positif untuk investor.
