Abstract
Teenagers are at the stage of the search for identity. Efforts in conducting adolescent search for identity is to enter the competition, such as a beauty contest. Beauty contest will focus on the assessment of beauty and physical attractiveness that influence adolescent views about her body image. Body image is an internal representation of the unique appearance and self-perception of the body and is described by the extent to which individuals are satisfied with the parts of the body and overall physical appearance and adding self-image acceptance rate is dependent on the socio-cultural influences (Thompson, Heinberg, Altabe, & Tantleff-Dunn, 1999; & Ridha, 2012). In-depth interviews (in-depth interviews) conducted on 4 teenage girls (ages 18-21 years) who had attended a beauty contest starting in 2011, with a purposive sampling technique. The study took place in the span of five months, starting on Ferbuari 2014 until June 2014.
