Abstract

Edwards Personal Preference Schedule (EPPS) is a personality test tool which measure 15 basic human needs. Currently used EPPS norm was published in 1975. The aim of this study is to develop the EPPS personality test tools based on participants data in young adulthood developmental stage (20 – 40 years old) in the last 5 years (2010 – 2014). This research involves 805 participants who were in the young adulthood developmental stage in Jakarta. The method used to collect samples in this study is the convenience sampling technique. The program to process the datas was SPSS 16.0. The result of this research shows that the highest needs of young adulthood between ages 20 – 40 in the last 5 years in Jakarta are achievement, intraception, nurturance, dan endurance. Meanwhile, the moderate needs are deference, order, exhibition, affiliation, dominance, abasement, dan change. The lowest needs are autonomy, succorance, heterosexuality, dan aggression. We found a significant difference between all mean scores compared to the 1975, therefore a new norm was made based on young adult respondents in 2010 – 2014.
