Abstract
The marriage of non-Balinese women with Balinese man, need self adjustment especially to genetic relationship system and religion ritual. Self adjustment process become more difficult because their husband and family aren`t openminded with kasta system but support from husband family on the beginning of the marriage have an influence to reduce self adjustment problem. This research aims to understand non-Balinese wife`s adjustment who have husband from Bali ethnic and strategies to facing the problems. Basic theory of this research is an effective adjustment characteristics by Haber and Runyon (1984). The method is in-depth interview which involved 4 non-Balinese women that 20-45 years old and marriage with Balinese man. The interview was held for four months, started from January 2005 until April 2005. This research indicates that during the adjustment process, non-Balinese wife has some problem because a different background. There are communication problem, unworthy feeling, unable to make banten sesaji, decision on religion ritual, behavior and tradition. Strategy to face that problems are learn about Bali culture and support from husband and husband family.
