Abstract
The purpose of the study is to see how deep is the understanding of a mother about the meaning of life after her child’s death caused by accident. According to Frankl (1984), the meaning of life can be found in three ways, which are through actions, through experiencing a value, or through one’s attitude toward a misery. The meaning of life is very crucial to be found for its presence guides someone to live the life in direction. This study employs a qualitative method of data collecting through interviews and observations. The subjects of the study are three women, each aged 43, 52 and 55 years. This study lasted from January 1, 2009 until December 17, 2009. This study shows that FS and AP is able to discover and understanding the meaning of their life, so they can live their lives with passion and purpose. While EL is not able to discover and understanding the meaning of her life that she lives her life with a feeling of emptiness.
