Abstract
Emotional intelligence is the capacity of individuals to recognize their own emotions as they can recognize emotions in others (Hicks & Dess, 2008). The purpose of this study is to give an overview of adolescent’s emotional intelligence in schools labeled as international school in Jakarta. Convenience sampling technique was used to collect data, involved 523 participants consisting of 391 participants filled out questionnaires directly and 132 participants through an online questionnaire. Participants of this study are student of schools with international Cambridge curriculum in Jakarta with the age range of 11-18 years. Data analysis showed the following results; 39 participants (7.5%), were classified as having low emotional intelligence, 2 participants (0.4%) were classified as having intermediate emotional intelligence, and 482 participants (92.2%) were classified as having high emotional intelligence. Thus it can be inferred that the emotional intelligence of adolescent in schools with international curriculum implementation in Jakarta are generally high in motivating oneself
