Abstract
The population of elderly in Indonesia increases. Predicted in 2010, total of elderly will become 28,8 millions people or 11.34% from people in Indonesia and life expectancy will become 71,7 years old. Like their ages increase, they will get the limitations like in their physics, cognitive and socioemotional. Although they will suffer theirs, they never limit their needs in nursing homes. There are five respondents with age 65-88 years old who staying in a nursing house at North Jakarta. The interviews had taken in February to August 2007. After they had interviewed, the results were produced in some transcripts. The transcripts are analyzed and made resume of those. Concluded of this research is hierarchy needs of Maslow at elderly who stay in nursing home have a well satisfied until safety needs then decreased at belongingness and love needs and esteem needs. The highest need is self-actualization needs not satisfied at elderly who staying in nursing home.
