Abstract
Previous studies about future orientation show that there were no study that related the parental involvement as an external aspect and emotion regulation as the internal aspect in decision making.The objective of this research is to figure out the role that parental involvement and emotion regulation brings toward future orientation. Convenience sampling method was used to recrute the participants. There were 242 student total of sample from bachelor programmes in Universitas Tarumanagara. Result shows that future orientation was influenced by the perceived parental involvement and emotion regulation. The strength of influence from the two independent variable is 8,5 %, and the 91,5% left were contributed by others variables. Therefore, future orientation will get more better, if the concerns to parental involvement dan emotion regulation were enhanced
