Abstract

In a disaster, people often lose their property, even lives. Event of an earthquake, not only cause deaths, but also leaving the building damage. Children at the age of middle childhood is a time children begin to recognize their environment. Children begin to recognize a pleasant experience (such as play, have friends, and increased knowledge) and an unpleasant experience (such as disappointment, sadness, anxiety, and stress). It is therefore necessary resilience to be able to minimize the negative effects and make individuals particularly children who are victims of the earthquake in order to continue on with his life. This study uses the five subjects of children with an age range 10-12 years who experienced the earthquake. Research carried out by the interview method since the end of December 2009 through early May 2010. The results showed that three subjects had all of the factors forming the source of resilience, while the other two subjects in each of the factors forming the source of resilience exist that are not being met. Sources of resilience is the formation I have, I am, and I can.
