Abstract

Work engagement is a positive, fulfilling, affective-motivational state of work-related well-being. When engaged, individual are tied to the job, will have a high energy, feel enthusiastic when working, and feel the time is so fleeting. Authors hypothesized that the work engagement individual would influenced by the independent variables of self-efficacy. When individual has high self-efficacy, the person is convinced that they can do something has the potential to be able change events in the environment. It will affect to work engagement. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of self-efficacy on work engagement at the nurses who working at the Mental Hospital X. This research is done on the nurses who working at the Mental Hospital X and the population numbered 119 people. Analysis of the research data using linear regression on the significant level of 0,05. Based on the analysis of data obtained by F =164.381. The results of this study concluded that there was a significant effect of self-efficacy on work engagement. The result showed contribution of self-efficacy on work engagement at 58.4%, while 41.6% is influenced by other variables outside of this research.
