Abstract
" Disclosure of information is done in social media about yourself, such as gender, age, address, occupation, and the problem of what is happening can be included as part of self-disclosure. Self disclosure committed by juveniles can be to update the status and upload photos, then the appearance becomes an important aspect of the inevitable of the development of social media. The way a person perceive the body shape you have, the ideal concept that suits the individual's perception of the so-called body image. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between body image and self-disclosure in adolescent social media users. The study involved 302 participants from one high school in South Tangerang and one university in West Jakarta by using a convenience sampling technique. The results showed that there is a negative relationship between body image and the appearance dimensional orientation with self-disclosure with r = -0.132 and p = 0.022. So the higher-dimensional body image and appearance orientation, the lower the self-disclosure of social media users. "
