Abstract
Indonesia is known to have a wide variety of cultures. Every culture has different characteristics, including in terms of assertive behavior in Javanese and Chinese. At one culture needed for communication between individuals. The purpose of this study was to examine the differences assertive behavior in adolescents who are ethnic Javanese and Chinese. The study involved 430 respondents ethnic Javanese or Chinese who are in SMA X, SMA Y, SMA Z, and the University XY. The result showed ρ = 0.000 > 0.05, that there are differences in assertive behavior in adolescents who are ethnic Javanese and Chinese. Teens are ethnic Chinese have assertive behavior tends to be high compared to the Javanese who have assertive behavior tends to be low. This is shown on the mean value of 152.35 for teenagers Javanese ethnicity and the mean value of 278.65 in adolescents who are ethnic Chinese.
