Abstract
Cervical cancer is the number one cancer most suffered by women. Generally, if symptoms has occured, means the cancer has reached the advanced stage and patient is towards death. Patient who is towards death is going to lose most of the aspect in her life caused by the disease she suffered and she realizes her life is about to end. Therefore, patient is going to suffer grief and pass few steps in order to admit her disease. Normally, grief is felt by the family who is left, however grief can also be felt by the patient. Grief consists of five stages, they are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. But the stages do not always happen in particular order, and sometimes patient does not feel all of these stages. Kübler-Ross however, stated that patient at least feel two of these stages. The purpose of this research is to understand the grief in middle adult woman. This research was done by interviewing four middle-aged women, who are around 40-65 years old. This research showed that four of the subjects have different type of grief. Furthermore, three out of four subjects experienced denial stage, one subject experienced the anger stage, and two subjects experienced depression. Finally, all four subjects experienced the acceptance stage.
