Abstract
Trait Personality can predict and explain a person's behavior. Personality traits have five dimensions: openness to experiences, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeablennes, and neuroticism. Individual personality can affect the student's engagement. Trait personality allegedly can affect student engagement. Student Engagement can be defined as student main activity which is learning during leacture, doing assignment, and learning. This study aims to determine the effect of personality trait on student engagement in students. The study involved 382 students of University X in Jakarta. This research uses non-probability sampling technique. Based on obtained data research results shows there are influence trait personality on the dimensions of openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness to student engagement. However, Trait Personality Neuroticism has no effect on Student Engagement.
