Abstract
Previous studies supported that entrepreneurial attitudes can be a potential precursor of one’sintentions to engage in entrepreneurial activities in the future. In terms of parental education,research also found a significant relationship between mother’s entrepreneurial upbringing patternand children’s entrepreneurial characteristics at elementary school age. Since the act of implementingsuch upbringing pattern can be similarly close to entrepreneurial activities, this research hasexplored how entrepreneurial attitude of mother has a strong affect on their choice of implementingentrepreneurial upbringing pattern for the children. From a sample of 278 mothers of five nationalplus elementary schools we found that two of three hypotheses proposed were statistically supported.Entrepreneurial attitude of a mother strongly affect their choice of implementing entrepreneurialupbringing pattern to the children. There is also significant correlation between entrepreneurialattitude and entrepreneurial upbringing pattern, but the correlation is not significantly supportedon the employment status of a mother. This research has several implications theoretically andpractically. The findings of this research corroborate some studies with the support of entrepreneurialattitude orientation as one of the precise measurement in predicting future entrepreneurial intentionsin term of education from the parents. The evidence that employment status did not correlate withany of entrepreneurial attitudes nor with the choice of implementing entrepreneurial upbringingpattern give a wider opportunities to explore other demographic factors which might influence bothentrepreneurial attitude and entrepreneurial upbringing pattern.
