Abstract

Impulse buying is known as of consumer behavior that takes place in retail location thus retailers have to provide comfortable and pleasant shopping environment that offers enjoyable experience for consumers. The objective of this research is to investigate the influence of store factors on consumer?s impluse buying at Sogo Dapartement Store Jakarta. There are four factors included in the research which are store layout, store ambience, in-store promotion, and store associate. Each factor consists of several indicators of further define them as independent variabels which influence impulse buying as dependent variabel. A total of 200 respondent were sempled by using convenience method and were asked to fill up questionnaire which is measured by likert scale. This primary data was analysis using statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) Statistic 22 software. This research concludes that store layout has positive and significant influence to impluse buying among sogo department store Jakarta consumers; in-store promotion has positive and very significant influence to impluse buying among sogo department store. While store ambience and store ambience and store associate don?t have significant influence to impulse among sogo department store Jakarta consumers. The result gives practical implication that developing effective in-store promotion plan should be priority to Sogo Department Store Jakarta management by creating various promotion events in the store to stimulate consumer?s impluse buying decision. Furthermore, Sogo Department Store Jakarta should improve and organive their store layout and display to appeal consumers and delightful shopping environment to trigger impulsive purchases.
