Abstract

Bullying is a negative action from a strong and powerful person or group to the weak, this action usually done repetitively and in a long period of time. Bullying in elementary school might be happened among the students or between the student and teacher. Bullying action could give negative effect to the victim physically and psychologically as well. Physically, the victim could suffered a pain to their part of body, such as bruise. Psychologically, negative effect happens to the psychological of the victim such as easy to feel worry, an extreme fear to the person who had done the bullying to the victim, sad, stressful or become more a provocative and argumentative person, feeling of uncomfortable at their own school. The bullying action that happened at the school, the intervention from the victim could done in 2 ways, first defense and protect their body from action bullying, and second good skill to communicate their problem to their parent, teacher, friends or an elder person. This research was done to 5 subject with different gender, boys and girls. Whom they are an 9-12 years old elementary students. This research was done by doing an interview to the subject which had done for 2 months, since 3rd September 2008 until 11th November 2008. The results shows that bullying action that happened in elementary school could give negative effect to the victim physically and psychologically as well. Four from five subject in this research was able to intervene the action, meanwhile the rest one was not.
