Abstract
This non-experimental observation was done in due to reveal whether there is a significant correlation between self esteem and sexual abstinence in females adolescents community. The Nul Hypothesis (Ho) that has been tested is "there is no significant correlation between self esteem and sexual abstinence". The hypothesis test used statistical analysis Spearman Brown. From the counting results correlation coefficient r = U, 181 with p = 0,013 with significant rate 5 %. According to this, the Nul Hypothesis is rejected. The research shows that there is positive correlation between self esteem and sexual abstinence, although the correlation is very weak. So self esteem still become a consideration to female adolescents in sexual abstinence although at the recent times there is a moving sexual norms become more permissive. This result indicates that there is some other factors which influence the correlation between self esteem and sexual abstinence.
