Abstract

Increasing the success of micro businesses has an important role in the national economy. However, the sustainability of this business is often hampered due to low entrepreneurial commitment. Therefore, it is important to understand the factors that influence entrepreneurial commitment for business owners with disabilities,
who often face greater barriers to starting and managing a business compared to non-persons with disabilities. This is not only related to access to physical resources, but also to the social perception and support they receive. The support provided, especially capital assistance, is expected to play a role as a reinforcement in facing challenges that may arise in maintaining entrepreneurial commitments.
Therefore, this study is designed to examine and evaluate the influence of competencies and personality characteristics on the entrepreneurial commitment of persons with disabilities, as well as to assess the moderation role of capital assistance in the relationship. This study aims to analyze the influence of competencies and personality characteristics on entrepreneurial commitment among business owners with disabilities. This study uses a quantitative approach, with non-probability sampling methods and purposive techniques. The sample consisted of 133 people with disabilities who owned businesses in Temanggung,
Grobogan, and Wonosobo. The data collection method uses a questionnaire. This study uses data analysis with SPSS version 24. The results of the study show that the competencies and personality characteristics of each have a positive and significant influence on the entrepreneurial commitment of people with disabilities.
However, the results of the study show that capital assistance has a positive influence, but not significantly on the entrepreneurial commitment of people with disabilities. Likewise, in the moderation test, capital assistance is also not significant in moderating the influence of competencies and personality
characteristics on the entrepreneurial commitment of people with disabilities. This study targets business owners with disabilities, a group that is still not widely researched in entrepreneurship studies, thus providing a new perspective and enriching the existing literature with data from understudied groups. Thus this study contributes to the entrepreneurial literature by providing empirical evidence on the factors that affect entrepreneurial commitment, especially among business owners with disabilities.
