Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the integration of the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) in the Emergency Department (ED) and Inpatient Unit of RSUD Ciawi as an effort to improve service quality and the work efficiency of healthcare personnel. In the digital era, SIMRS has become a vital component to ensure fast, accurate, and secure access to patient data. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a case study, involving in-depth interviews with nine key informants (four doctors, one nurse, one administrative staff member, and three IT team members), as well as document review and field observation over three months.
The findings indicate that the integration of SIMRS supports accelerated information access, inter-unit coordination, and administrative efficiency. Several challenges include limited internet connectivity, system dependency, and the need for continuous user training. The success of integration largely depends on management support, infrastructure readiness, and human resource competence. These findings identify that the
effectiveness of SIMRS is influenced not only by technology but also by organizational culture. Therefore, regular evaluations, network capacity improvements, and strengthened user training are essential strategies for optimizing medical information management.
